adds cameras, buttons, sensors and switches.

Method: signIn. Sign in with the Ring account; Ring then sends a verification code by text or email, which is asked for next. The password is used once and never kept. Ring uses its cloud; available camera features appear on each camera’s page.

Ring is a cloud connector for cameras, doorbells, motion sensors, buttons, switches, and some model-specific doorbell features. Ring requires an internet connection for account access, media, and calls. After you sign in with the Ring account email and password, Ring sends a verification code by text message or email and asks for it next. The connector keeps the password only for that sign-in flow, then uses the resulting session. Cameras can show live view and stored pictures, and supported models can expose two-way talk, microphone mute, listening mute, and floodlight switching. A doorbell can also show its associated door lock, and you Choose a door lock in ALYT settings.

Use signIn with the Ring account email and password. The connection flow has two steps: enter the account credentials, then enter the verification code Ring sends by text or email. The code is time-limited, so finish the sign-in promptly. If Ring rejects the credentials or the code expires, start again from the connect form.

Discovery looks for Ring devices in the signed-in account. Ring names devices, but not rooms, so a newly discovered device may arrive unassigned. A shared home appears under the account it is shared with, and household permissions are narrower than staff access.

Ring cameras expose stored pictures and, when supported by the model and current permissions, live view. Opening a camera page fetches the existing picture first; a missing stored picture means no recent picture is available. Live video starts only when you select Watch and stops with Stop, closing the viewer, loss of viewers, or the ten-minute limit. Updated clients use one WebRTC session for incoming video and audio plus optional two-way talk. Older clients use the compatibility media path.

Current camera controls include Start call, End call, microphone mute, and listening mute. Some models also expose a floodlight switch. Doorbells can surface the last ring event, and cameras can surface motion as a recent event state. A doorbell may show its associated door lock in the camera or doorbell view.

Ring is cloud-only. If Ring’s cloud path is unavailable, media, event reads, and controls that depend on the cloud do not work. Local-only operation is not available for this connector.

LIVE credentials apply only to the user’s own installed connector. DEV credentials act in the developer sandbox. The connector also enforces household permissions, so a user can only act within the household access they have been given.

Check the following first:

  • The Ring account can still sign in outside ALYT.
  • The verification code arrives and is entered before it expires.
  • The home has working internet access.
  • The camera or doorbell is still enabled in Ring.
  • The device page has permission to show that camera, doorbell, or door lock.
  • For media issues, try closing the viewer and opening it again, then retry Watch.

If a camera shows no stored picture, wait for Ring to provide one. If live view does not start, confirm that the device is online and that Ring’s cloud is reachable. If a door lock does not appear beside a doorbell, check the lock selection in ALYT settings and make sure the selected lock belongs to the same home.
