What it adds to a house
Section titled “What it adds to a house”adds appliances.
How a person connects it
Section titled “How a person connects it”Method: signIn. Enter your La Marzocco email and password. If you use Google or Apple to sign in, first note the email shown in your La Marzocco account, then sign out of the La Marzocco app. Use its password-reset option with that same email to set a password, then return here to connect. Keep your machine paired; you do not need a second account. ALYT keeps an encrypted session, never your password.

Section titled “The guide”The La Marzocco connector lets a household link supported coffee equipment to a La Marzocco account and then view machine details, machine-owned schedules, and coffee history. The current workflow uses the vendor account for account connection, settings, discovery, and disconnection in the partner portal, while the homeowner uses the web or phone app for local setup and any local verification flow. If the cloud path is unavailable, cloud-dependent features do not work; local functions can continue through the hub when the machine and hub are available.
Connect your account
Section titled “Connect your account”Connect with a native La Marzocco email and password account. Enter the account email and password shown in the connection form. If the owner uses Google or Apple sign-in, they first note the email shown in the La Marzocco account, sign out of the La Marzocco app, and use password reset with that same email to create a La Marzocco password. They then return to ALYT and connect with that email and new password. Keep your machine paired.
One connection covers the equipment available to the connected vendor account. The machine stays paired with the vendor app, so no second account, machine transfer, or sharing invitation is required. ALYT keeps an encrypted session and does not keep the password.
What the connector shows
Section titled “What the connector shows”The connector exposes the machine overview, About your machine, Schedules, and coffee history. The machine overview uses the supplied La Marzocco artwork and can show reported readiness, coffee target temperature, steam state, and the Warm up and Set to standby actions. In the equipment view, you can see the reported model, serial number, connection state, gateway, Wi-Fi network, signal, and installed firmware information. Where the machine reports an available firmware update, it appears as an update notice, not as an installed update.
The schedule view shows machine-owned timing in the machine’s own wall-clock time. It can include smart standby, early start, automatic on/off, and returned schedule entries when the machine reports them. These schedules belong to the machine and are separate from ALYT routines. They are read only and do not provide update, brewing, grinding, or firmware-update controls.
The history view shows coffee counters, history grouped by brew group, and recent extractions when the machine reports them. If the machine returns only part of the available history, ALYT marks the view as bounded. If some source sections are unavailable, those gaps are shown as unavailable rather than filled in. Coffee history is read only. Equipment details and coffee history are fetched when that page is opened, while remaining separate from ALYT routines.
Local connection through a hub
Section titled “Local connection through a hub”If the machine supports local setup, the household can connect through a nearby hub. A nearby name alone never links a machine. ALYT verifies the match using the credential supplied by the connected account.
The flow is: choose a nearby hub, start a finite scan, inspect the discovered machines, and verify the matching one. If the scan returns no result, check machine power, hub readiness, and other local Bluetooth sessions, then try again after the current scan ends. A scan can return at most eight candidates and may mark the result as truncated. If the hub is offline or needs an update, it is not selectable.
When local verification succeeds, ALYT keeps the household name and room you assigned. If you rediscover the same machine later, those household details remain in place. This local verification belongs in the homeowner web or phone app, not in the partner portal.
What it cannot do
Section titled “What it cannot do”This connector does not claim direct vendor app replacement, machine transfer, or generic third-party OAuth linking. It does not make unsupported local features available, and a grinder does not inherit espresso-machine controls. A connected Wi-Fi gateway does not imply a direct local Wi-Fi API.
Warm up requests machine power. Set to standby preserves mains power to the gateway. Ready appears only when the machine reports its supported ready state; unknown, offline, or unconfirmed results do not become Ready. Advanced controls appear only when the machine declares the supported widgets, units, legal ranges, and commands. The More menu opens separate Coffee & extraction, Steam & hot water, Machine care, Schedules, Coffee history, Connection, and About your machine pages. Machine care shows reported cleaning and water information; it does not start cleaning remotely. A target temperature is a setting rather than a measured temperature, and missing measured temperatures stay Not reported. The Micra does not provide remote brew or stop; its physical paddle starts extraction.
When it fails
Section titled “When it fails”If account linking fails, confirm that the email is the same one shown in the La Marzocco account and that the account uses a La Marzocco password rather than a Google or Apple password. If local verification fails, check that the machine is powered, the hub is ready, and no other local vendor session is active. For Google or Apple users, sign out of the La Marzocco app, reset the password with the same email, return to ALYT with the new La Marzocco password, and keep your machine paired.
If the scan times out, wait for the current operation to finish and run a fresh scan. If verification expires or stays unconfirmed, no machine settings are changed. If the machine reports no supported local profile, its account controls remain available in device settings rather than through local setup.
